Muralinagar Parish was canonically erected at the dawn of the Third Millennium on the joyful occasion of the Visakhapatnam diocese being raised to the status of a Metropolitan Archdiocese, to meet the pastoral needs of the newly developing township of Muralinagar, of the fastly growing city of Visakhapatnam. The area of this new parish consists of the areas separated from the existing parishes of St. Peter’s Cathedral, Gnanapuram, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Saligrampuram and St. Tho- mas Church Butchirajupalem.
