The only St Peter's church in Goa
One of 8 oldest churches in Goa, this church completed 475 years recently having been built in 1543 AD (Portuguese arrived in Tiswadi, the '30 villages' in 1510).
Mansion of legendary Dona Paula Amaral e Menezes, with connections to Ceylon is nearby and now called Solar Souto Maior.
Declared a state monument in 1932, it has 5 intricately carved altars. The setting sun's rays is said to have lit up one of these altars.
Open everyday at 7 am, closes almost immediately after mass. Sundays are open a little longer.
