Every Friday - 8:30 AM (Malayalam)
By the grace of God, in 1971 the corner stone was laid for the growth of the landmark of worship by a small prayer group, consisting of 9 members, gathered at Mr.M.C Cherian’s residence, for praise and worship. This was a small step, for a giant leap later. The prayer group comprised of 5 families who gathered together every Friday at 7pm in the house of any one of the member’s. When the group proliferated to 25, a house was rented and prayers continued there.
Rev.K.S Varghese, the Vicar of the Parish in Bahrain, came over to lead the prayers, once a month, on a Friday. Later Rev.M.M Thomas was appointed as the Vicar of Dubai Parish and the prayer group was led by him, once every month.
When Rev. John Varkey was the Vicar of Dubai Parish our most Rev. Easow Mar Timotheos Metropolitan conducted the Holy Qurbana in a specially arranged Pandhal in the courtyard of Mr Alex Cherian’s villa which was attended by the Christian community in Ras Al Khaimah. This was the first Holy Qurbana held in RAK. Later the verandah of the residence of late Mr. Thomas(Chakala Baby) was converted into a worship hall by the prayer group members. Thus the Vision of God, the growth of a small prayer group into large marthoma community began here.
In 1980, the group was recognized as a congregation. Unfortunately, due to some inevitable circumstances, the freedom to worship was lost. However, in 1992 the congregation reconvened the service in the worship centre with the cooperation of the Anglican church and were able to conduct various church activities. In 2001 the edavaka grew into a Parish. Since then, there has been no turning back. By the grace of God Almighty, our Parish has henceforth been on the progress track, and today, St.Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Ras Al Khaimah, stands shining like a lamp lit on a mountain.
With open hearts, we praise and thank our Lord Almighty, who fulfilled his purpose in us, by guiding us to establish the St. Thomas Marthoma church which has become an important landmark in RAK.
By the grace of God a meeting was arranged with the Crown Prince His Highness Shk. Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, and our designated church delegates Rt. Rev. Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom Metrapolitan, Rev. G Yohannan, K.G Alexander (convener) and other Marthoma church priests. The request for Worship facility in a building of our own in Ras Al Khaimah was the agenda of the meeting. By the grace of our Almighty a land was granted and permission was given to construct a church. We sincerely praise and thank the Lord Almighty, who fulfilled His purpose in us by guiding us to establish the St Thomas Marthoma church which has become an important landmark in RAK.

“An Oasis in the desert”
The foundation stone for our church was laid on December 2nd 2008 and our long cherished dream of worshipping the Lord Almighty, in our own church building, started taking the turn to be a reality. We can never erase from our memory lane, the timely advice, support and guidance of Rev. John George our then Vicar, along with the dedicated committee members, and Parish members, who have stood strong, to make this dream come true.
