Fr. Antonio Anand da Gama Pais, son of late Dr. Antonio Caetano Fidelis da Gama Pais and Gertrudes da Conceicao Nazare, was born in Dr. Olavo Rebeiro Hospital, Mapusa, on September 14, 1967. He did his basic education in St. Xavier’s High School, Moira and St. Britto’s High School, Mapusa and his BA at St. Xavier’s College, Mapusa. When in college he joined Seminary of Our Lady, Saligao and was ordained a diocesan priest on October 28, 1994, and has served in parishes of Betalbatim, Loutolim, Chinchinim, Tivim, Porvorim and Calvim. He also holds Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Theology. A multilingual, Fr. Anand is fluent in English, Portuguese, Konkani, Hindi and Marathi. His hobbies include reading, gardening, singing and listening to music. He last served as Parish Priest at St. Sebastian Church, Calvim, for a period of 7 years where he made a number of improvements that were highly appreciated.
