Leslie Verghese is a Licensed Minister of Assemblies of God, Licensed Psychotherapist, Public Speaker, Certified Chaplain, Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor, and an accomplished writer. He is the author of two books; 'Case-in-Point' and 'Genesis to Pentecost'. After completing his MSW in Clinical Case Work, Pastor Leslie obtained his PhD in Clinical Christian Counseling from Cornerstone University, USA. Along with the secular job at the Baylor Scott and White Health System, he serves as the Executive Director of Agape Partners International, and as an Executive Board member of Sunday Schools Network International.
Pastor Leslie grew up in a Christian home, and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of twenty. As his parents were members of the CSI Church, he also served the Lord diligently there. However, the Lord spoke with him powerfully and directly in 1990, and he decided to take the public demonstration of his faith through immersion baptism. Since immigrating to the USA in 1994, and after serving the Lord in various capacities as PCNAK 2003 National Youth Coordinator, PYFA 2000 President, and NACOG 2004 Youth Coordinator etc., the Lord commissioned him to be in pastoral ministry. Through a divine healing encounter in his wife Jessy’s life, the conviction of the calling was very profound, and Leslie went on to get his theological study foundation through the Church of God Theological Seminary and has been subsequently licensed and ordained since 2008.
After serving the Lord in First Church of God, Elmont and Shalem Pentecostal Tabernacle in various ministerial capacities and being involved in ministry in New York for twenty two years, Pastor Leslie and family relocated to Dallas in 2015. He has been serving the Lord in Assembly of God Dallas initially as Youth Pastor, later on as Associate Pastor and Interim Senior Pastor, and as Senior Pastor since November 2018. Pastor Leslie is also pursuing a Master of Divinity program through the Northwestern Theological Seminary.
The passion of Pastor Leslie is to turn every mess into a message, every test into a testimony, every trial into a triumph, and to be the catalyst in changing every victim into a Victor in Jesus Christ. He has been married to Jessy for twenty eight years, who has been the stellar support for his ministry. They have four children--Japhia Grace (Married to Christopher George), Joshua Samuel, Johana Ann, and Jaynah Lynn.
