Rev Jacob Paruthimuttathu Thomas is from Mangalam in the Chengannur Muncipality. His home Parish is the St Thomas Mar Thoma Church, Mangalam. His father, late Mr P. O. Jacob belongs to the Paruthimuttathu family in Mangalam St Thomas MTC and mother Mrs Sosamma Jacob belongs to the Pullelethu family in Maramon Mar Thoma Church. He did his Bachelors in Zoology from the St Berchman's College Changanacherry. Bachelors in Divinity from the Mar Thoma Theological Seminary, Kottayam and Masters in Theology from the Gurukul Lutheran Theological College and research Institute in Chennai. Currently undertaking doctoral research in the area of Mission Studies with the South Asia Theological Research Institute (SATHRI) of the Serampore University.
